When converting from a well-known material like CR-39 material to Trivex material, there are a few tricks-of-the-trade that savvy labs and opticians have adopted to make their lives easier and the results predictable.
When talking about a lens material we should at least all agree on what a complete material is – would you all agree that this is – UV protection, impact resistance, optical clarity or Abbe and I would also add to the list the weight of the lens material or how lightweight it is? The combination of these benefits is what allows the Eye Care Professional to make a recommendation offering a complete lens material to their customer or have to make compromises.
With many other products in many other industries, a model becomes “old” when it’s replaced with a “new” one. I know that may sound simple, but it’s true. Can you describe it any differently?
